Bali Audu is a Lagos-based Nigerian visual artist from Benue State. She holds a degree in Textile Arts from the University of Lagos (2015). Her practice centres on portraiture and figurative works, often incorporating her distinctive Henna-inspired dot technique, through which she explores storytelling, emotional reflection, identity, resilience, and shared human experiences.

Influenced by her personal journey and interest in human connection, Bali uses repetitive dot patterns inspired by the cultural significance of lalle (henna) in Northern Nigeria to build layered compositions that speak to memory, resilience, transformation, and belonging. Her work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with the emotional narratives embedded within each piece.

Following her formal training, Bali explored murals and craft-based practices across public and private spaces before transitioning fully into studio practice in 2022. Since then, she has developed works and series that explore storytelling, emotional depth, identity, resilience, and the complexities of human experience.

Her work has been exhibited in Nigeria and internationally, including In-Her Colours in Manchester (2026), In-translation at Kokopelli Art Gallery, Lagos (2026), and presentations with the National Gallery of Art, Lagos and NK Art Space. In 2025, she participated in AMIAF and presented a duo exhibition at Ogirikan Gallery, Lagos. Her work was featured and sold at the 11th SOGAL Modern and Contemporary Art Auction organized by Signature Art Gallery in 2025.

In 2026, Bali participated in the African Female Artists Mentorship Program (AFAMP), a three-month mentorship programme focused on artistic and professional development. Beyond her studio practice, she is committed to cultural exchange and arts education, having facilitated workshops at the Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange (2023) and Les Fortins School, Douala, Cameroon (2022).

Through her practice, Bali continues to create visual narratives that encourage reflection, connection, and a deeper appreciation of shared human experiences.
