More than a portrait, this painting is a reflection on life, memory, and the stories we carry as we grow older. While working on this piece, I found myself thinking about childhood the people we grew up around, the afternoons that seemed endless, the games we played without worrying about
... time, and the stories we heard from older people that stayed with us long after the moment had passed.
There was something special about growing up and simply being present. We had fewer things, but somehow, there was always a story, a game, a friend, a place to go, or someone to sit beside and listen to.
As we grow older, many of those moments become memories. Some faces remain clear, some voices become distant, and some stories are remembered differently each time we tell them.
This painting brought me back to those memories and made me wonder how much of our childhood still lives within us.
